Planetek Hellas (PKH),
www.planetek.gr, is a company of the Planetek Group that since 1994 designs
and develops integrated geographical data management systems. The Company
was founded in 2006, is based at the 21st floor of the Athens Tower, in
Athens-Greece and aims to replicate the successful approach to the market of
the Group leader Planetek Italia, whose applications and solutions are
developed within the most important European programs in the field of Space
Research, integrated system for the management, analysis and sharing of
land-related information.
Planetek Hellas
experience conjugates mastering of advanced remote sensing processing, with
GIS Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) competence and real world application
delivery. These applications have been usually addressed to public
administrations like local governments and environmental agencies, but now
the company is going towards private investment activities dedicated to the
developments of new services and products.
Planetek Hellas services combine a
variety of activities in ESA funded projects, such as: PARC-Archipelago (Posidonia-oceanica
Advanced Remote Cognition), SIMS (Seagrass Integrated Monitoring System),
Marcoast2. Planetek Hellas has also activities in EC-FP7 funded projects
such as SAFER. Planetek Hellas has also developed for ESA several systems
integrated into ESA-SSE (service support environment) service architecture,
under the projects NTSS (Naval Traffic Statistics for Security) and Ozone
3D. In the BIO_SOS project Planetek Hellas will be in charge of the
subsystem modules design and development and will be responsible for the
service demonstration over the Greek sites.

Bollanos
Present job and responsibilities: Manager –
Geomatic Application. Work experience: Graduated in Business Administration
in the University of Piraeus, Athens, Greece. At the Planetek group, since
2004, has matured experiences in different technology areas. Key Areas of
Expertise are: Company methodologies and standards (project quality
assurance, system testing, data quality testing and customer acceptance). He
has a good knowledge of the Greek and European Geomatic and Earth
Observation market and good contact with Greek End Users. He managed all the
above projects of Planetek Hellas.
Dimitrios Karachalios
Present job and
responsibilities: IT Project Manager. Work experience: At Planetek group
since 2008. He was project manager of the NTSS project of Planetek Hellas,
funded by ESA. Key Areas of Expertise are: His experience covers system
architecture going from client stand alone, client-server, SOA and web
architecture, orchestration of web services, with a great problem solving
attitude, and a great experience in leading workgroups. Furthermore he has
experience in OGC interoperability standards.
Manos Lagoudakis
Manos Lagoudakis is a Physical Geographer.
He holds an MSc in Environmental Monitoring, Modelling and Management, from
the King’s College London, UK. He works in Planetek Hellas as Geospatial
Applications Analyst. The main projects that he is involved with,
are: Geoland2 (European Soil Sealing). The main objective of this project is
to upgrade the 2006 European Soil Sealing map with 2009 data. Customer: EEA
European Environmental Agency. Users: European Commission Marcoast2 (Marine
and Coastal Information Services). MARCOAST delivers satellite-based
services in the field of marine and coastal applications. Customer: ESA.
